Re: did i make a mistake?????
video support and direct connect and (*rumor*) more tracks and a really stable operating system.

Re: did i make a mistake?????
Has Digidesign actually said that it's going to have Directconnect? That certainly WOULD be cool!
I had a thought about the "more tracks" issue last night. And I kind of doubt it's coming. Why? Well, the PT LE version released with the MBox doesn't have more than 24... and we all know the Mac gets stuff before the PC. So unless they're working on a new Mac version at the same time (possible, but I've heard no such rumors), or they're going to break with convention (and past history) and release a new feature on the PC first, I really doubt we'll see more tracks. I certainly hope I'm wrong. As far as the OS goes, XP is MUCH more stable than 98se or ME. |
Re: did i make a mistake?????
I don't think you made a mistake. Your 001 will work right now. XP/LE is coming.... sometime.
Direct connect will be enough for some to upgrade. I sure hope they fix the optical S/PDIF defaulting back to ADAT. That'd be worth it for me. |
Re: did i make a mistake?????
silly question but what will the direct connect do??
|
Re: did i make a mistake?????
DirectConnect allows audio data from a software synthesizer or sampler to be routed directly into the Pro Tools mixer. Each input stream from the host application can be independently recorded, automated and mixed within the Pro Tools environment.
According to a press release from two years ago, "(Windows compatibility to follow)" |
Re: did i make a mistake?????
I hate WinME.
Direct Connect allows for controls of software synths and samplers without external connections. |
