2018.4 Startup Crash
 
Hi,

Upgraded to .4 just now and I can't get protools to launch. I get the startup screen and then crash log.

I've installed via app manager and reinstalled via dmg file. Rebooted. Reset. NADA.

Any ideas?

New 2017 mbp highest specs. Latest os. Ext monitor attached. Apollo Duo w/ satellite for interface.

“latest os” isn’t supported (10.13.4). That may be your issue

Did you try to delete old ProTools pref. files ?

Might help you out ...

There is another thread about PT 2018.4 above this one. Try to post in there as well ...

I think it must be an os thing. 10.13.4 and 2018.4 don't seem to play well. I gave up and trashed everything and reinstalled 2018.3 and everything is working great again. I guess I'll check back from time to time and see if this ever gets ironed out...

There's a note in the forums somewhere from jeffro or one of the other moderators that 10.13.4 is not qualified for a reason (not that it hasn't been tested) for 2018.4. They have seen problems and so are not qualifying it.

10.13.4 here with PT 2018.4 and runs great!

my tricks.

As i do every time, in case if i install some new plugins, move the most of the plugins (generally the half) in a folder on desktop and launch protools.

Leave it boot up, wait and see if it's start regularly.
Quit ProTools. Move again the plugins back in the plug-in folder and restart Protools, wait 'till the complete load and let's see if it works.

Same here..... crash upon startup. Trashed everything, but nothing helps.
Os 10,12,6 - Mac Mini
PT 2018,4

Reinstalled 2018,4 - but same issue

iLok License Manager does the same thing. Doesn't start up.... just a blue wheel comes up

The Ethernet port is broken as well. I'm running an Orico USB to Ethernet adapter now.

Can't log into APP Store either. Can log in at Apple.com, but not App Store
