No headphone jack output - Meters showing output

Hey Guys, So far, in the 2 years or so of having my 11 rack i havent had a single issue. I haven't needed to use the headphone output until now, and it appears there may be a problem.

I'm connecting the headphone out to an old receiver and speaker system that i have. The receiver works fine, I use it with other sources to play back music.
Upon plugging in a 1/4" TRS male to RCA cable into my headphone jack, while its connecting you can hear the connection being made (by the output of the speakers connected to the receiver), but upon play back of any sort, nothing. The I/O meter shows output on the 11 rack (scrolling to the far right), but nothing makes it to the receiver. I have the headphone volume set at 8.2, and it is not muted.

Is my headphone amp IC fried or something? This really sucks.

On a further token, is stuff like this covered? Or am i screwed :/ I never really used the headphone jack until now. As far as I can remember this is one of my first times using it.

Any help will uhh... help :D

Thanks dudes. (and dudets :rolleyes::eek::p)

Nick

PS is it possible to purchase another front I/O board? Its pretty simple to install. I just wouldn't know where to get one :S

does it work with headphones?

Did you cycle the Mute/Unmute button. If you had the Phones muted then turned the unit off and back on, most likely the Mute designation is not lit, but it can still be muted.

Didn't you at one time break off a trs sleeve in the headphone port?

Yes I had cycled the unit, yes i had cycled the mute switch.

YES.:mad:That was the other time i went to use the phones jack :P Of course I didn't use it at the time since I felt something not "click" in place but slide out, which is when i figured out there was a problem. After opening up the rack, it was simply stuck in place and was not shorting anything, i popped it out and it should be good to go, no? I really couldn't see how something like that could render the headphone jack useless!

After applying a signal using a tone generator in windows(i used 60 hz since thats what my multimeter is calibrated to read, not sure if it makes a difference) and measuring across any combination of pins there is no voltage output. At all.

Hes dead jim!

In acceptance of this fact, is there a way i can buy a replacement board?

Out of curiosity (I'm new to the eleven rack so it might be a stupid thought ) but do you have pro tools open during this? And do you have a track armed at the time? The headphone jack does not send a signal when pt is open with no track is armed. Just a thought.

No, this is under windows. However I may try going into protools and assigning a signal to the headphone bus. See if that changes anything. I doubt it though since the meters already display a full signal.

If you don't have the 11r plugged into a computer at all and you have no headphone out signal then I suppose your probably right then. I only asked because I thought mine was broken the first time I opened PT and lost the signal to my phones. :o It took me a minute to figure it out.
