Hi everyone. Boy, I've missed a lot of good music.

I am gearing up to finally shift my DAW from -- brace yourselves -- my 10 year old PT 5.3.1 / 001 setup on a W98SE machine to a new iMac 10.6.6 to run PT 9. This platform will be a dual music and iOS app development box.

Anyone have pointers/advice re. PT file compatibility moving from 5.3.1 to 9? Sounds really awful, don't it? :-)

Your drum sound is fairly muddy. The snare, kick and toms all sound the same and are blending together with not alot of definition. I would try EQing to get some of boomy muddiness out of the kit. Tighten up the double kick and add alittle high end to get it to cut thru. Get the snare to cut thru the toms. Kick and snare should be driving this tune and they are lost in the toms. Drummers timing is all over the place too.

just my opinion. Good luck with your track. Keep at it.

I think the audio lacks a little life when heard by itself, but in context to the video, i think it actually works well.

Its my first ever video production. Its taken me an unbelievable amount of time to edit the video to get this!

I just placed a rough mix of Oh DArling on my My Space page. Let me know what you think. Bass is recorded with stereo B15Ns. Used a Ludwig kit in BFD. Used a lot of British bundle EQ and compression (nomad) and placed some magnetic tape emulation in specific places.



Euphoria, enjoyed the video. Very nice vibe. Interesting camera work.

Hi, the recording quality is very good and mix is spot on. You did a great job overall and it sounds commercial. The only thing i didnt like is the drum fills. They arent what a real drummer would play and didnt flow between the music sections. They were distracting and choppy. Aside from the drum fills, great job. good luck.

Thanks Chris, The drums were a midi file that I did not take to much time to tweak only to mix. I was thinking of doing some real drums. Not sure I want to put that much work in the song. I was only using it to practice mixing and learn the bass line. May ask the speakers you listened to it on?

sounds like a commericially mastered track to me. As good as any on Itunes or in a Cd store.
Mix is up and clear. I say, put it on itunes and sell it.

Nice groove and flow. I think the vocal and snare are spot on, but the kick is alittle buried and the backing keys a little low in the mix. I would bring up the kick and the backing keys so they are little more in the performance of the vocal. Quality is really good though overall.
