Problem with 001 and Adat light pipe

I'm getting a loud popping noise and it reads on my meters and records to track on all Adat inputs to the 001 via light pipe. Anyone know how to solve this and what the problem is.
I'm using a Mac G4 533 dual processor. I've read somewhere that I should turn off one of my processors. Could this be part of the problem. Other than that, everything works fine...well actually my buss meter was running unusually high and I crashed a couple of times, had 1 DAE error. raised the memory in the DAE and restarted and that seemed to fix that problem. Any and All help is appreciated.
thanks

I think your problem comes from a bad setting of the sync of your system.

That is: if you're getting clicks from adat it means that PT is sync'ed to internal and the machine that delivers adat is also in internal, this creates conflicts and appears this fantastic effect.

Check the Setup - > Hardware menu in PT and choose the option that configures your system to a unique machine creating the sync.

I know i have'nt explain myself very well... I'm sorry, that's all i can do

Setups > Hardware Setup and put the Sync mode to OPTICAL. Your PT will follow ADAT's digital sync.
