003R with Blacklion Mod - What to do?

Hey All,

I stopped using my Blacklion modded 003R a few years ago and have had it sitting in the studio gathering dust. Anyone have an idea what I should do with it? Doesn't seem to be a market for it these days as support was dropped, and I don't think donating it would be of use either. Does it really just end up getting dropped off at the local electronics recycling depot!? I guess that's the way it goes.

Cheers,
blizzard

Buy a dirt cheap 2nd hand laptop and set it up, then give it away for a local musician-wannabe

If you can find one with a firewire port, this is a great idea! Pay it forward:D

Love the idea of setting this up for someone who needs it. I am trying to find an appropriate laptop to get this going, and when I have a moment. Hopefully, it can help someone.

Check eBay and newegg for an off-lease HP Elitebook 8440P. I have one of them I bought a couple of years back with an i7 and 8GB of RAM and it has firewire(the smaller connector) and it works fine with an Mbox 2 Pro and PT12.5(it cost me a little over $200). Mine even came with a drive caddy for a second hard drive(in place of the usual optical drive).:-)
