Will HDX get the advertised voice increase or not?
 

I've been out of the loop for about 18 months.

has avid officially dropped the idea of this increase to HDx card users?

They have a long history of non-disclosing roadmaps, but sure, this has been on thin air for so long already. Just don't hold your breath until everything is working on 64bit-only Catalina.

There are dealers like Vintage King and Sweetwater that sell voice packs for HDX cards so atleast it is working.

It’s not working for HDX. I’m pretty sure those voice packs add voices tracks to PT Ultimate.

We were promised 384 voices for HDX1 but the required firmware update toasted 15% of the cards I think it was.. It seems that a year on, Avid have been unable to fix this.

It's a shame. And IMO 15 is a pct Avid should just accept and replace the toast cards.

they can't advertise a feature, sell something for money based on that being provided within a time period of ownership considered reasonable and then not provide it... well, not in Australia anyway because the ACCC and DFAT will stop them from trading and fine them if someone logs a complaint... Microsoft found this out the hard way. just saying
