Hello all.

New instrumental track:

http://www.soundsurfr.com/song%20fil...y%20Action.mp3

It's called "Spooky Action At A Distance". Be the first on your block to download it.

Anyone who can identify what the title refers to gets bonus points.

Roy,

Thanks heaps, that would be great. How big are they? I'm only on a 56k dial-up connection but I can download 8-10 meg without too much fuss.

I'm getting into programming basic midi drum beats, but they always sound like the crappy sounds that they are.

Looking forward to hearing your track when it's complete

Mark

Mark,
OK, I'll check the size of the samples. I don't think there's any problem sending them. Since they're one hit samples, I can just make em MP3's that you can convert back to WAV there, with little or no quality difference. I'll just put em in a folder and keep it small, with just maybe a couple of each (snare, kick, hats, etc.). I'll get em ready here soon...

Soundsurfr/G,
Song sounds good. Cool chords... really held together well. I didn't expect that middle break, but it's cool...good stuff, and I cannot quess what the title refers to(though I was trying to tie it to 'The Haunting'... )

Okay, I'm still using a 56K on this computer... so it will have to wait a bit until I can get to my other one to start checkingout some of your stuff people, but here's a link to a couple of tracks by artists we've done:

http://www.ssrstudio.com/sys-tmpl/ns.../publicfolder/

I'd love to hear what everyone thinks.

I'm working on something of my own, and should have it ready in a week or so. I'll let you know!

Roy,
Very cool. I like how close in to the mandolin I feel I'm getting with this mix. Very good work!

The little guitar lick at 3:50 was perfect. Quite good!

Very very sweet. Keep it up guy! Another good one.

Thank you Mark...

Phil,
Great engineering job! Clean and present as can be... I really like the song 'Entangled' too. Who's the artist? Thanks, Roy

Sounds nice Roy

Neet delay, good depth, full sound, how many tracks? nice effects Kind of reminds me of the
bassalt causway album. I was picking on one of those recently I found it hard to get my fingers around it my fingers are not used to
those small frets. And it was a breed love so i refrained from getting my pocket book intimatly associated with it. I find myself playing above the 12 th fret lately though. Hmmm no warts?
SDA http://you.genie.co.uk/kazainireland/giantscausway.html you might remember these guys I think Eric Clapton named them

1. Mandolin song is great. Your slide work is very distinctive - I think I could pick it out now if I heard it on an unidentified recording. That's the mark of a really good artist. I think I've got enough of your stuff now to burn a Roy CD for my car. Cool!!!

2. Do you think I could get a copy of those drum samples also while you're at it? Thanks!

3. Remember the African Tribal music I was doing for CBS? Well the show is called "Superstars 2002" or something like that and the two episodes aired on May 5th and 6th. It's airing again on June 22nd and 23rd at (I think) 6PM Eastern/5 Central. Here's a link to one of the songs that I did for it:

http://www.soundsurfr.com/song%20fil...Challenge1.mp3

4. Thanks for the input on my song. I'll reveal the title reference in a few days if no one else gets it.

5. I've started adding vocals and other stuff to the song we were thinking of collaborating on - I'll post it when I've got it to the point where you can do something with it. Basically, I just need you to add a solo. Should be fun.

It's all good.

Phil,

Good work! I liked Entangled a lot. The vocals are clear and the mix is well balanced. Looking forward to hearing your own stuff.
