Step-by-step remote session setup?

We are recording audiobooks remotely -- single mono track, narrator in studio booth, director/engineer offsite, recording and doing post in Pro Tools. Our problem is this: we are able to receive and send live audio (for talkback) but can't figure a way to send playback from the engineer to the narrator. We've been using the Source Connect plugin and Source Connect Nexus, and have tried about every signal path we can think of. Youtube videos have been a big help, but don't solve the playback issue. Can anybody point us to a checklist or step by step instructions that will solve the playback problem? Thanks, and stay safe!

What have you already done for solving this problem? I may ask my mate where is the problem in your scheme.

Hey. Thanks for getting back. We've basically followed the instructions in this recent video

We can record the narrator and communicate back with them -- all good. The only thing we haven't been able to figure out is how to send them playback of what's already been recorded. Feels like the solution is hiding in plain sight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a good day!

It’s because you have a mix minus setup? (I didn’t watch video) A super simple solution would be to create an extra track for just playback and send it out to just your remote talent. Then just drag clips you want to play out to the track. When you record- mute playback track. When you play out mute record track.
