HD10 mountain lion Mac Pro 5,1 not working
 

HD8 was running fine
Installed HD10
Got this error
So I upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.5
Still got the same issue
Any help appreciated.

Can’t see the pics, I had nothing but love for 10.8.5, that was a great release.

I ran PT10.7 on it for several years without issue

Hi,

Did you uninstall PT 8 before attempting to install PT10.

You should use the uninstaller that comes with the version you want to uninstall so you should run the uninstaller for PT8 HD.

Complete uninstall. Repair disk permissions. Reboot. Reinstall.

What OS were you running with PT 8?

that combo should work like a dream. I would wipe the HD clean and do fresh installs all around. Sure its a PITA but it is going to work wonderfully afterwards:cool:

agreed, clean installs are the best way ever.
It can also work like a charm on Mavericks - i Just move to it last month after years using 10.6.8 & 10.8.5

I'm sussing out Mavericks for a buddy in Nashville on PT10 Vanilla with a Mac Pro 3.1 and I installed PT 10.3.8 which is what I had handy (my license is for HD). So far I hooked my Zen Studio+ up via USB to replicate his setup sorta since I'm HD5 TDM in a Magma for this Mac Pro (sadly no Thunderbolt on a Cheesegrater) and I'm starting to dig it. I'm finding some of my VIs & plugins are compatible with Mavericks but not ML. I recorded 24 mono tracks and then played those back recording 24 more and never got over 10-11% CPU with no issues at 128 buffer, did both recordings for over an hour. Now my Mac Pro is a 2008 3.2GHz 8-core with 32Gb of RAM and SSDs for the OS, not sure what my buddy has yet but it will be the same when I'm done.

In a week or two I will hook my Magma/HD 5 up and redo some torture testing to make sure it all works for me and I will respond back if there are any issues.

There is no PT 10.8.3, last version would be 10.3.10

Sorry. I got dyslexic there for a sec, it's 10.3.8 (Pro_Tools_10_3_8_Installer_80777).
