Studio Insurance-OT
My insurance policy on the equipment in my studio just went up considerably. My room is in my house, but I cannot attach it as a rider to my home insurance policy. Currently, it's a Lloyd's of London policy through Empire Insurance, and it's now about $185 a month, which seems a lot. (It had been about $115 a month before)
I had investigated a policy through ASCAP, and I seem to remember that it wasn't what I either needed or was looking for. Anybody out there with brilliant policy for a lad with nice room, 2 HD3 systems and all the acoutrements that those entail? Thanks in advance. Craig |
Re: Studio Insurance-OT
I joined the musicians union. Paid $200 a year dues. My insurance premium for around $30,000 worth of gear was about $300 a year. Another option is Musicpro insurance. Actually I think they do ASCAP's inusrance policies as well. Anyone who uses Musicpro Insurance care to chime in with their experiences (ease of claims etc.)?

Re: Studio Insurance-OT
I just got musicpro insurance, its 1% premium a year. So $50,000.00 of gear is $500.00 yr.
Studio liability is a flat $350.00 a year covers $1000,000.00. |
Re: Studio Insurance-OT
musicpro here too. the 1% number is accurate. $300/year for $30k of coverage.

Re: Studio Insurance-OT
Musicpro is not the thing I saw several years ago when I looked into insurance through ASCAP, so I will definitely give it a look-see. Sounds very promising.
Thanks for the helpful replies. Craig |
Re: Studio Insurance-OT
Music Pro here as well.....talk to Angela...she handles all of the clients. I had a claim a few years back and it was quite an easy experience.
1% is accurate. -S0nguy |
