Re: Xmas Tunes

Well what I would like to get him is the $300 robot kit from
Radio Shack but we may have to go with the lump of coal
since my wife lost her job a while back and we kind of got caught in a bind.
(this post is in response to Roy's question in case anyone wonders)
Jonathan has been doing really good at public school after being at the aspie school
for six months. We are sure glad to have him back.
It wouldn't be Christmas without him. Well it's my wife's birthday today
so I better go give myself to her before she calls me sorry again.
I want to stay on her good side. Of course the other side is good too.. once she flips over.
Well, I read your post about being a Christian and that is great. I'm a saved sinner myself.
Being saved doesn't mean I won't mess up it just means I won't catch hell for it...
after death I mean. My wife will make me pay while I'm alive but after death I'm good to
go...
to heaven.
What were you thinking?
Funny thing happened. The other night we were having dinner and the subject of death came up.
You know, how it does when your all about to eat some dead meat. Ay way, my wife's uncle
asked me if my father had died quickly or slowly. I thought but was without words then the words
came out... Well Bill... I think he died slowly because it took 81 years!
Everybody cracked up and I couldn't believe I said it.
I'm just not right.

I like it, cool tune. The production is good, I would maybe just turn up the geetars a little in the mix, especially the electric but, I'm a metal head anyway so, it's probably ok I also like the backing vox but, bring'em up in the mix just a little.

We're just gonna see what happens this busy month. And we'll decide in Jan. if we release it ourselves or push it to the record labels. Either way there'll be a CD. We are also in the final stages of writing a couple new songs, to havea full CD.
Thanks for the interest.

Perhaps not your style but, try to evaluate independently from that.

What kind of keyboards did you use?

I liked them but my favorite was the second one.

Background vocals are extremely nice. I like the harmonies. Great job!! Do you have anymore?

Hey John! I mean John Hey.....

Sorry....couldn't resist. It reminds me of the time when I worked at a supermarket and the lady at the counter had to page someone for a phone call...."If there is a Rich Mann in the store please come to the service desk".

Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

Hey Luis - thanks for the post. This certainly isn't my style, but quite well done and enjoyable nonetheless. I especially like the richness and character of all of your instrumental voices. It definitely has a "deeper" or more textural sound than similar music I have heard.

I would think you could go even a little further this way - for instance, the "chorus" pads in the background, which are present throughout the piece - it might help the development to have some subtle changes to the timbre of this voice as the song progresses.

Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot for your critics, specially because you're doing something even if it isn't your style!

I do understand what you mean. This is an in-between phase of the total music so that kind of thought is in the air here as well.
Actually I'm not the responsible for the music since I'm only the sound engineer and editor.

I'm really interested in having my job criticized by others in all aspects to try to improve it.

I'll keep posting some musics than...

Thanks

"some nasty hip hop drums with live cabasa,..."

What do mean by that - bad mix or just a matter of taste?

"...beaded goard and Flexatone."
Try to explain in an easier english (sorry my english)

Re: Finally posting some tunes

I played the keys with much editing (definitly not a keyboard player)...

The organ sounds in " The Real Me " are from Native Instruments B4 and and the Horns are from SampleTank. The Piano in " When You Cry " is some SampleTank patch (don't remember which one) and the strings are also from Sampletank.

Glad you liked them.

Tracy,
Song sounds good. Nice Country twang on the VOX. NOt my favorite type of music personally, but it was a nice song. Again great voice! If I ever get my studio working again, I will put it through the mackie's and take a listen.

Good luck and the production was sweet too!

Hi everyone

I've been too busy with work to record anything for a couple of months, but I've started afew new songs, and this one even borders on being a happy one.

Any pointers from more experienced hands would be appreciated. There ends up being quite a lot going on in the mix and I wonder if it could be better balanced.

Things here have been truly terrible. Your mix is still the yardstick I judge by.

Hope life is treating you well.

Folks, if you want to hear some great music, head over to the "Marsh" on prosoundweb. This link will take you straight to the NEXUS which is the collaboration thread. The results of the latest CaPE are in and the tracks are quite astounding.

Look out for our own ....
Roy Howell (MudCat) in Team Intuition
Paul Curtiz (Goes211) in Team Funk Soul Brother
and me (Watershed) in Team Usual Suspects.

definitely. Great work, Roy. I like that singer a lot. I followed a pretty long psw thread where a bunch of people mixed one of her tunes. She's really talented. Very cool.

Nice.

OK. I am finally getting a website up and will be posting songs as I get the time. I am trying to find updated pics of me as the ones I have right now are back in the 80’s (kind of old). Anyway, I placed a Christmas medley that I did a few weeks ago late at night. There was no editing done on this one.

http://bravomusic.us/our_music.html

BRAVO was name of the last band that I had. Again back in the 80’s. I stopped playing when I got married because I was going to raise a family and while I making decent money I wanted to be able to provide other things. Well after 15 years and no kids, I am getting divorced. I am in the process of updating my keyboards and starting to write again. I am thinking about restarting a band once this divorce is done.

Merry Christmas!
