MBox Mini and Headphones Mystery

Hi -

I use an MBox Mini and I had to move so it was disassembled, now I can only hear out of the left side. I've tried another headphone but it's the same issue so I'm guessing I don't have it plugged in correctly to the MBox?

Any thoughts? Could it be a setting in ProTools?

Thank you for your help,

Mary

Okay, I re-read my post and it was not very clear...I have a an MBox Mini that I use along with ProTools to do voice overs. When I moved my equipment something happened to the settings for the headphones because I can only hear audio in the left headphone. My mic is fine just the headphones. I keep trying different configurations of the headphones cord into the MBox but to no avail. I plugged a different headphone in - same problem.

I'm wondering if there is a control for the headphones in the ProTools software?

Any troubleshooting would be helpful (and hopeful).

Thank you!
Mary

You might try setting you outputs to default in the I/O section of the preferences. It could be as something as simple as a pan pot panned all the way over. Is this one session or all sessions? You have any hidden tracks?

Are you possibly recording a mono signal to a stereo track?(that's a common mistake for newbies:D)

Thanks Sunburst and Albee (who are you calling a newbee?:o )

Okay, I know I don't utilize all that ProTools has to offer. I just record, edit, burn to disc. I'm sure there is a solution in what both of you have suggested but my ProTools language is limited, ugh.

Its every session and I have the headphones plugged into the Midi in "mon out".

Now my waveform is really small...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The monitor outputs on the back of the unit are single channel - only left or right. They're NOT for connecting to headphones - they don't have the power necessary to drive headphones anyways. . Why don't you use the headphone jack on the front panel? And there's a volume control on the front panel for that level.

There is this....you should be using the headphone jack.
