Speaker Output weirdness

I am running PT 7.1 002 rack running on an intel mac with tiger

I have recently got a new room and I noticed that the response out of one speaker was different from the other. The left side has definitely got a better response in the top end. I have got the acoustics sorted -which Is why I think I started to notice the problem - and I have done several tests with differing material including moving the speakers around. I have come to the conclusion that the problem is the output from the 002. I feel this as I am sure I can hear the same effect when monitoring via headphones direct from the 002.

Has anybody encountered this, I have suggested that it could be the firewire cable or that I should delete my preferences. The former I can believe not too sure how the latter would help.

Thoughts would be appreciated

Just curious how thoroughly you tested your monitors.. Did you switch cables on the 002 or just move the monitors? Or both? Mono source panned full left then full right, switch cables outputs, repeat..

I would test outputs 3-8 also..

Since you say you hear the same thing in phones (with a bit of uncertainty indicated lol) as well as from the standard outputs, it seems to point to the main L-R bus. Using 3-8 (with master faders for volume control) might eliminate the part of the path that is causing you problems...?

Hard to believe software would have anything to do with it...
