apple-m \"mute region\" clash with finder apple-m \"minimize\"

i've recently upgraded to protools 7.3 on OSX 10.4. it's all good, except this is really bugging me... i can't use apple (command)-M to mute individual regions anymore, because of course it is used by the system to minimize the window. i'm guessing i might have to get my hands dirty and dive into terminal to disable it, so any advice or alternatives would be warmly welcomed.

i'm also a bit worried that i can't find anyone else here with the same problem...

anyway, it's a shortcut i use literally hundreds of times a day when i'm editing, so i really really want to be able to use it again. i'm pretty sure i can't change it in protools, and i've had no joy with the mac fora.

cheers, and thanks,

wez

Hi Wez,

you might try disabling the "Minimise" command , using your preferences/keyboard & mouse pane, and going into "Keyboard shortcuts" selsect that shortcut , and deselect or whatever !

it still minimizes the window with protools in front of everything? I've never seen that before.

first thing i tried... but i've checked and double-checked, the apple-m (minimize) shortcut does not appear in the list!

absolutely. i can click on the command in the menu, but every time i try to use the shortcut, the edit window disappears into the dock. to make it even more infuriating, i've just discovered that the HD system at work is the same setup (7.3 on 10.4) and it works fine. my home system is original Mbox, PT LE 7.3.1, OSX 10.4.9, G5 1.6 Ghz.

starting to look like i have something freaky going on.
