Automatically Copy Files on Import crash 2022.6 [PT-289727]
 

New issue with 2022.6 ultimate version

Every time i try to import session data or clips groups with Automatically Copy Files on Import checked,protools crash.

Post production user, session with only wav files 48khz 24 bit

We have tested differents fles,on differents studio ,trashed pref,reinstalled protools,tested on a blank session,tested on catalina and Mojave with no luck

Back to 2022.5 solve the problem.....:confused:

Nobody has any issues with this?

Yup, It took me basically a whole day to get up and running again after reverting to 2022.5. Noticed same problem with two different machines, macs, one Moneterey and one High Sierra (not officially supported)
Crashing when importing session data or clip groups or creating a session from a template that's always been working.

Not sure what causes this. Any non-english characters in your audio file names?

Yes ,my Session contains non english characters
(Our Foleys names are in french)

But with blank session without audio files,when i try to import Sfx in english,2022.6 crash too....

Ill check it out when i have more time....

2022.6 crashing for me only when importing clip grouped clips using "Import Clip Groups". Also crashing for me when Importing Session Data where clip grouped clips are on a track.



Ungrouping the clips allows me to import using Import Session Data without issue.



I've worked around the Import Clip Groups issue by deselecting "Automatically Copy on Import", then once the clip groups are in my session, I "Copy and Relink" to my session folder using the PT Workspace.

I created a support case today with AVID and pointed to this thread.

I had 1 hour of downgrading to 2022.5 today at work before a recording session. Couldn't open my template becaused Pro Tools 2022.6 crashed. Installed 2022.5 and everything opened without problem.

Yup, I can confirm - the same issue is happening here.

2022.6 saved me time with the new Atmos workflows and took it all right back by crashing when importing session data with clip groups. :eek:
