midi questions concerning pt10hd update

my major concerns are:

first:
I configured my entire pro tools system to my needs: when moving from pt8 to pt9 the update was easy and troublefree. when moving from pt9 to pt10 I need to keep my .midnam files just as and where they are. I am using a lot of VI and external midi gear and I make extensive use of the Pro Tools feature to select different sounds via the Patch Select Buttons on Instrument- and Midi-tracks. after updating to pt10hd ... will this be just as it was on pt9? (will pt10 keep my personal presets?)

second:
I use external controllers for tweaking all my VI...
inside the AIR instruments you cannot save your midi controller map inside a preset-well at least it is working for some VI for others it is not:
for example hybrid: yes it works you can assign individual controllers AND save them as a preset you may use in another session just as well.
with vacuum (and some other VI like BOOM of the AIR group) things are a bit different: some vacuum GUI knobs are already connected to specific midi controllers most of them are not. you CAN change this pretty easily by assigning the midi controllers via right click on the GUI-knob and moving the controller on your external device but you CANNOT SAVE it as a preset(although luckily these changes are saved inside the session).(FYI: I am not talking about assigning controllers to a device like command8 using the mapping features: these are all working fine) vacuum cannot save any of the newly assigned MIDI controllers to the GUI as a PRESET you may use.
fortunately there is a workaround:
I created a session calling it my VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS session: there I assigned every AIR instruments plugin to the midi controllers I needed and saved the entire session.
using the command from the menu:
>file>import>session data
I can easily import every VI with individually assigned midi controllers.
even those where AVID did not implement this ''save midi controller assignment inside current preset'' feature. now comes the question: of major importance to me would be that ...after updating to PT10HD... when I again use the import session data command and import an Instrument Track with a virtual instrument on it: will pro tools 10 hd keep the midi controller assignments I created on pro tools 9 hd. If the answer is yes: wonderful ! if the answer is no: nightmare ! I would have to do all the midi controller programming again. thanks DTS for checking up on this. cheers matt :-)
