Question about instrument tracks

OK guys. I'm using Instrument Tracks for my Kontakt instruments. I've laid down the midi, put Kontakt on an insert and things are good. Now that I've got my part finalized, I'd like to record this as audio data, so PT doesn't need to load up the Kontakt samples each time the program launches. So, how do I record the audio that's coming out of Kontakt? I'm sure this is super simple, but I'm not sure what to do...

Thanks in advance,
J

Re: Question about instrument tracks

Route the output of the instrument track to the input of a new stereo audio track, i.e...

Output of instrument track, bus 1-2.

Input of audio track, bus 1-2.

Record, and smile.

Thanks for that...but isn't there a way that the audio and the midi can reside all within an instrument track? If not, then I'll use your approach...

Not at this stage of the game. . . you must route and print to a separate audio track as per the suggestion.

Hi,

there is one nice 'workaround' - just 'deactivate' the instrument track after beeing recorded.
I do this all the time....

best
