Euphonix system 5mc - Big Sur
Hi guys,
anyone running an euphonix system 5mc with BigSur? Catalina seems to work. Would that be the last OS for system 5 user? cheers, Phil |
Re: Euphonix system 5mc - Big Sur
I upgraded my Mac OS to Big Sur this last week. (Siera was the previous OSx)
I found a .dmg for Eucon 3.6.1 which I installed on the Pro Tools 21.12 Mac. and the .exe for EuconMC_3.6.1. to install on the MC. I was able to get my Pro Tools workstation to show up in the 5-MC list, but I can't get PT to map to the fader modules. In fact, with EuconMC_3.6 running on the MC the fader packs show up as "not responding". I have rebooted several times, reset modules after they show as not responding. I am now wondering if I need to update the firmware in the fader modules? I can't remember how to do that or if it's even possible. Still working on this so I will let you know if I find a solution. If any of you have a suggestion, I'm all ears. Will Audio Team Leader PBS Utah PT 21.12 OsX Big Sur 11.5.2 Euphonix System 5-MC |

Hi Will,
thanx for taking your time. I helped a friend out with installing a MC. We ran in certain problems with BigSur and roll all over back to Mojave. That system runs fine and the software used is compatible. cheers, Phil |
Re: Euphonix system 5mc - Big Sur
hey
im running S5MC with Big Sur and Logic Pro X did a clean install of Eucon 3.61 on the Mac and reinitialized the MC Pro and reinstalled the OS all running ok but having an issue where if i open a folder on the Mac desktop that action closes or parks the session on the S5MC (the 408 screens go back to how they look after they boot. I'm a new user to S5MC so just trying to work out why thats happening and if i just need to hit a button on the MC to bring the session back up |
Re: Euphonix system 5mc - Big Sur
Silver 5MC here on Big Sur with PT Ultimate and runs even better than on Catalina. I had the odd quirk on Catalina where I'd have to restart everything if it wouldn't see the computer but on Big Sur all seems fine. Testing Mavericks on a Mac mini M1 next week but thumbs up here.
