Pro Tools 6.4.1 TDM Update for MIX Owners

The Pro Tools 6.4.1 update for owners of Pro Tools 6 for Pro Tools|24 MIX systems is now available for download:

MIX owners will need their Pro Tools 6.0, 6.1, or 6.2 authorization code to download and authorize 6.4.1.

Upgrades

The $35 upgrades for MIX owners without Pro Tools 6 will be available soon in the online DigiStore, as will the $4.95 update installer CDs for Pro Tools 6 MIX owners that are not able to download.

I'm currently using 6.1...will I need to upgrade any/all of my plug-ins to work with 6.4?

Since you are coming from 6.1, you'll have to update your Mac OS from Jaguar to Panther, so you may need to update some plug-ins for Panther compatibility.

All of the Digidesign and Digi-distributed plug-in updates are linked from the 6.4.1 software page:

Those are all free updates. You would need to check with other manufacturers to see if any third-party plug-ins require updating for Panther compatibility.

Dear Digi,

Does this update incorporate all the cs releases that have been made for HD users? Do we need to download all those cs revisions? Or is that HD specfic.

The Pro Tools 6.4cs TDM updates are all for HD systems. Where applicable, earlier CS updates, including the 6.4cs6 plug-in updates were included in the 6.4.1 MIX release. At some point, in order to complete 6.4.1 and complete testing, newer CS fixes were no longer added. There may be future 6.4.1 CS fixes if the engineering and testing resources make that possible.

Clarification please:

Should / Can an HD system with 6.4 update to 6.4.1 even though the update is labelled for "Mix Owners"???

1 - 6.4.1 is for MIX only, as it states on the download page and the compatibility documents. It will NOT work with HD systems at all.

2 - Regarding the paid upgrades mentioned at the top of this thread...

Expected this week in the main DigiStore, perhaps as early as tomorrow, and on the European DigiStores as soon as the 6.4.1 upgrades arrive there.

All paid upgrades will include the 6.4.1 CD, with the additional option to download immediately.

I've bought an upgrade to PTools 6.4 from 5.0.1 and I was told that 6.4 version was compatible with MIX24+ hardware.

The question is: how can I upgrade from 6.4 into 6.4.1

On your web page the system does not accept a serial number from 6.4 version.

What should I do?

I have the same problem...
