Hardware buffer errors 9093 and 9129
Hi,
I posted earlier about similar problems with an older computer and PT LE 5.1.1. Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them worked. So I upgraded computer and PT to 6.4. However, I still get either Hardware Buffer size error 9093 ("operating system held off interrupts for too long...try increasing HW buffer size") or error 9129 ("audio processing is conflicting with other CPU tasks...try decreasing HW buffer size"). If I decrease size, the message is to increase it, and vice versa. System information:

Re: Hardware buffer errors 9093 and 9129
The first place I usually look when I hear people with increase/decrease buffer errors is the second physical hard drive. I don't see it in your brief description of your hardware. If you can run a Sandra report, that will give us more to look at. Anyways, Protools requires two hard drives. One for the operating system and the Protool executables. The second is for the session files and audio files. Do not confuse this with a second partition on the same drive. It must be a separate hard drive that is spinning at 7200RPM or more. If it is internal, it may be just about any type. For external drives, it should be eSATA or the recommended Firewire drive using the Oxford 911 chipset. Do NOT use USB 2.0 drives as it is not supported due to USB's inability to sustain throughput for streaming multichannel audio.

And you MUST have cs9 installed to use 6.4 with SP2.

And cs6 for the plug-ins and the latest PACE driver too.

OK, thanks for the tips. I'll try them as soon as I get a moment. I do have a second drive I can install.
