I love the mandolin samples created in PT for this. Every time I play it, I hear a different lyric...check it out if you get a chance...

Roy, as always, catchy, clean (although I heard a few dig clicks in there), and innovative (the guitar sound E.Q. and pan automation) but still staying true to that uniquely Roy style! I enjoyed the ride.

Interesting offers though, what do you guys think you would do differently? This is a weird one because the majority of the electric stuff I actually assembled to get that sound. 8 more songs to go, although I think I am done with one more.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Nice Work! I didn't mean you didn't do a good job. I just came on some down time for a couple of weeks and it sounded like something I'd enjoy working on if you wanted a different approach. That's a complement. Don't sweat it! Keep up the good work. Hey thanks for the kind words guys. I am very much unsure of what I am doing so I appreciate it. Sounds good to me, but I have never done this before...so you know that feeling, "what if I am missing something real obvious?" Anyways, thanks all..

(this is where I MEANT to post it....)

I have recorded an independent artist out of Georgia that I really enjoy...his name is Jonathan Barnes and the album is called "File Under Agrarian".

MP3s can be found at http://www.barnesmusic.com/12/media.htm

It's a mix of blues, bluegrass, folk, alt-country, and rock.

I hope you like it. The music was (except for the drums) recorded at 24/41 on the digi001 with waves gold, sampletank pianos, etc.

This project was a blast, and I hope it happens again soon, although it seems unlikely.

Ridger,
Though the snippets are too short to tell much about, what I hear sounds good. Sounds like you did a good job on the songs. Best of luck with it... -Roy

Hey Roy,

I really like Dear Life. The mandolin sound really adds almost a floating feeling, great combination with the guitar. Refreshing sound to the tune.

If you get a chance check out:

Experimenting with some ideas.

Take Care,
Gene

Hi Gene,
It's very different than the other things I've heard from you. Most of your other pieces are in a major key, and thus more 'pretty', I guess. This one sounds almost cathedral-like with it's minor scale and instrumentation. You do a very good job on that electric guitar, too. This adds diversity to your music. Good job, Gene. Roy, thanks for your comment. (was waiting to see if anyone else said anything)
