Midi Output on Projectmix IO w PT 7 M Powered

Apologies, am a new user on Pro Tools with the M-Audio Projectmix IO and Pro Tools MPowered. I don't understand how to route the Midi in from my Roland JW-50 keyboard to the output. I have a MIDI track setup, have the input recorded on the track and can see the track input meter registered. When hit playback, the MIDI track is always silent. If choose External MIDI in the output button on the track view, it will play through the Keyboard amp using the 1/4 output from the back of the keyboard, but no choice will get the signal out through the project mix IO. Assume it is related to the channels and output mapping, but don't see any MIDI channel mapping, just numbered channels.
Help... I'm just now figuring this beast out...\

Hi James

Are you trying to play your Keyboard with a Softsynth or the Patches contained within the Roland JW-50 itself?

For mapping your Roland, try: Setup>MIDI>MIDI Studio>Create>Manufacturer and Model (The Roland JW-50 should be listed) and assign the Input and Output Ports>Close.

...and if it's the latter of the two just previously mentioned, you'll need to route that Audio Output signal into one of the Analog Inputs on the ProjectMix.
