1. the cricket is too present (it should be more far away outside. Filter it a little bit in the high frequencies) 2. At pouring the bottle, we hear a swapping liquid. This normally occurs only if a bottle is tilted very fast and the waves of a liquid are breaking. So better leave it away. 3. The motion of the arms can be more present (is it even there? Just used the speaker of my smartphone to listen). Try to produce sounds for every movement. Especially after pouring and laying back the hand on the table. 4. The atmosphere is very static. Maybe the situation is that the protagonist is allone in a abandoned place. But there should be more than a static noise and a cricket that draws the attention of the audience. Try some soft wind (maybe it causes some old doors/window to swing?!), try a dog or coyote barking far away. Even the chair could make some crackling noise. Instead of one cricket, try a swadron of crickets to illustrate the heat outside. You could support the atmosphere by a fly buzzing in the background (use stereo, but do not make the fly a focus of the scene). |

Juulz - Shy Rockstar
Kid walked into our Friendly Neighborhood Community Center Project Studio five years ago, when he was just fifteen. Breaking into the local scene now with his own mix of rap and pop/punk rock. Typical case of mixing bedroom recorded vocals to a two track 'beat'. Some of my 'improvements' (additional drums, guitars and bass) didn't make it to the final mix. Oh well... http://https://youtu.be/M2FUMSj231g T |

Love it. Great feel! Kinda short on lyrics though. Keep it up, man.

ist song recorded using PT 2020
https://soundcloud.com/markspinner/strange-days-final
This is a song called Strange Days. The 1st song I recorded using PT 2020 The session was stable. System is in the signature. The whole recording process was very fluid. I used a Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster guitar. The amp was the PRS Archon Fifty. The gain channel was used on a cleaner setting to give it enough gain to sing. I used a Shure Beta 57 to close mic a JCM 800 4x12 cabinet. I did 4 tracks of guitar for the rhythm tracks. Each played separately. I then panned to each side. I also alternated between the middle pick up and the neck/middle on the selector switch to give tonal variation. The tracks were basically recorded dry although I used the slightest amount of reverb/delay using the Catalinbread Echorec. Effects were added in post. Some of the effect plug ins used were UAD 1176, Fairchild 670. Pultec eq's, MXR flanger , Brigade chorus, AIR gate etc. The bass guitar was recorded direct through an Apollo Quad interface. Plug ins used were UAD 1176, Pultec eq. The vocals were recorded using a Neumann TLM 102 through the Apollo. UAD Manley Voxbox was used on the master bus. I did multiple tracks on the backing tracks live to thicken up the chorus. There were panned appropriately to achieve the best results. I mastered the track at approximately 12.5 integrated LUFS to prepare for any loudness normalizations by streaming services. If any one has any questions I would be happy to answer or share any info. Enjoy. I included the lyrics below if anyone cares to follow the song Strange Days Took a drive just the other day It seemed like a good idea Thoughts racing around inside of my mind Put a song on the radio While I drove down memory lane Driving alone when it started to rain These are strange days When in the blink of an eye One morning you wake up And everything’s changed These are strange days When you love from afar Keeping your distance away From the ones that you love These are strange days Can’t even drink in a bar That’s why I’m driving alone in my car You’re still alive, you need to thrive You need to keep it all together for another day And it ain’t wise to hide eyes from what you’re seeing It’s the truth Oh, it’s just another day Just look around at what you found It ain’t pretty and it ain’t going away anytime real soon It’s like a maze you’re in a daze of purple haze You’re spinning round Oh, it’s just another day |

Here are so many nice works. I think, this thread will inspire me when I need it.
I've ordered a drum kit at home and I believe I will make some tracks using parts of drums. I've always wanted to learn play drums and finally I will fulfill the dream. |

I wrote a simple tune as a soundtrack for a video of some of my images of Vancouver. I guess you could describe it as slow funk. Here's the link to the YouTube video:

Re: Let's hear your latest stuff....right here
Any topliners and singers who wanna lay down some pop lyrics on a few songs? Le me know . For major labell artists of course and we can do a fun lucrative collab if we feel it works for both of us.
We have a lot of backgrounds produced privately (not pushed by Universal Music) which we can do something great with and either pitch to the artists we work with (big a-listers) or maybe you know someone who deserves a chance to release so e great songs produced by us and co-written with you? Or both? This would be a serious project under our name Jack and Coke and we will step outside our normal routine and try a collaborarion with people we dont necessarily know :-) |

I put a lot of work into this. Didn't want to ever get a final mix I was enjoying it so much, dancing around the room and all.

Re: Let's hear your latest stuff....right here
Here's my wannabe track.
I did all the instrumentation myself and give it a real-world rating of 6.5 No vocals -1 Artificial sounding instruments/quantized feel (stock Xpand 2 sounds) -1 Not professionally mixed/mastered -1 Scratch guitar performances (just to get the ideas across) -.5 I have lyrics and tried singing the vocal ideas but I'm just wasn't born with a voice. So I emulated the vocal melodies with synth sax. I'm not selling myself short on the ideas - it's a nice sketch demo. Just would like to hear it performed by a real band with a female singer singing the lyrics n melodies. Enjoy~ https://soundcloud.com/rockexotic/escape-til-sunrise |
Re: Let's hear your latest stuff....right here
Hi all, long time no see.
I created a meditation song with singing bowls, a gong, synth, shamanic drum, a shaker and mantra chanting. People who like to meditate, tend to find it very good to flow on. The sound is awesome imo :-) You can listen here: https://headandheartcoaching.nl/wp-c...-alignment.mp3 I hope some of you will comment if you think on the sound of the instruments and the overall sound. Thanks in advance :-) |

*GREAT STUFF FOLKS*
Mediocre Digi 003 convertors. Vocals(KASCA), me on keys, Taurus pedals and bass. Ryan Hoyle provided drum tracks, drummer of the once Collective Soul band. Larry Marciano from L.A. provided the guitar tracks. (whopping 16 guitar tracks, included D/I's). Cover tune of Geddy Lee's solo album My Favorite Headache, song Home On The Strange. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCzKbRgBJRw Had so much fun, and still learning from all you great cats. |
