This is a buddy's son band that I recorded on a 001 (on mac) and mixed with a MBox (on PC). They are not done with it yet, but hope to finish it with inthe next century. Anyway, tell me what you think. It is a WMA file. Thanks in advance

G'day Bret,
great song mate, really like it. Your right it does sound alittle like the killers which for me is a good thing.
Any tips on how you got that lightly distorted vocal sound?

Cheers,
Ruben

there's 2 answers to this question actually. for some of the songs I wanted the lower vocals to be a bit clearer but the higher, more powerful vocals to be a little distorted. You know what actually worked the best for me to achieve this? Have the preamp set for the lower vocals and when he really sings hard have the track clip a bit here and there. I know it goes against the rules but it sounds pretty cool for the right style of singer. And for some parts I used the Lo-fi plug-in with the distortion set at 2.0-3.0 and the saturation at about 0.2 Try that and see how it works!

also, I think the songs are downloadable on the site I gave?

After a LOOOOONG time...

Its been a while since i've posted something here. I got so busy, and i am still VERY busy lately. I will catch up with you guys somehow... Anyway... I composed and recorded a song 2 years ago, and some friends from Brazil decided to put some lirycs on it, so we re-recorded the song. After months of sending the song back and forth (Brazil-California-Washington-Brazil-California) , here is the latest mix. Endless Day
This is a fairly popular band in Brazil called D-Spero. Much peace for you all!

Enjoy,

Roger

2 tracks in the works...

Check out 2 tracks which i did all the synth/electronic work for an established artist (with her permission of course). The tracks are not yet processed, mixed-down nor mastered ... but you'll get the idea.

Here are the direct MP3 links ... play them loud & proud on good set of speakers.

Wake Her Up (this one is seriously emotional)...

Great tune. I am looking forward to hearing the finished version. Is all of their stuff like this?

Can I ask how you recorded the guitar?

Alright, here's another band I just finished mixing down. They're going to post a new song every week.

www.mypsace.com/amity

someone else recorded the drums and most of the instruments (almost same gear I have plus some extra mics, used one single Groove Tubes GT55 for just one overhead), and I recorded all of the vocals, mixed, and mastered the whole thing. Drums sound huge.

Hanu

New one is out there.

Hanu

A little bit smoother than my previous posts here.

Feel free to say anything!

One of my frends helped me with mixing: Sir Spliff Richard. (Yes, it is pseudonym.)
