Sorry for the delay on listening...I had to enable my SB card to hear these files, and I kept saying, 'OK, that's next on my list' for about 3 days... Anyway, sounds like you're becoming comfortable with Reason on 'Feedbacker'...nice percussion with the bass line there. And on EADGAE, the acoustic sounds fantastic. Nice tuning piece there... I always enjoy your stuff. Keep em coming... thanks, Roy |

jamlaw... sheesh, that was killer. This music is supPOSED to be loud, yet this is still clean as a whistle, which makes it all the more powerful in my opinion. It's not easy making music jump out of the speakers when you want it to... I like what's going on musically with the guitars, vocals, and that drummer too...Good stuff.
Keep us posted... ~Roy |
Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
as the worlds best thread continues ...
I will contribute my newest/favorite mix from my "001 Setup". I've posted work I have done with this band in the past they are called The Fully Down from the hometown Ottawa. The song is called "Best Of Me" (good tune ) I tried to push the 001 to its limits on this. (just got an 002 and this was the last 001 production). open to criticism good or bad. Rip it up if you feel the need to Its easy to loose perspective on a mix after working on it for a long time (as you all know) here's the link The Fully Down - Best Of Me PS - sorry about the Mp3.com link , I am aware people would rather bypass that whole scene but this is the only place its hosted right now sooo ... enjoy , hopefully Dean PPS - Not mastered yet .. so bare with the low volume |

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Okay folks, this is my first ever recording ever. A little background... I have only just started to learn about engineering and mixing less than a year ago. I am just trying to learn as I go along. This is a recording of my band in my basement. The original purpose was simply to just learn how to set levels, basic tracking and mixing techniques. So we did a "live" recording with no isolation between instruments. I just threw mics up on all the cabinets and the drums... even the keyboards were miked. The only thing overdubbed is the vocal.
The site is rather slow so you might have to download the song to listen to it... seems to have trouble streaming.. (sorry). Anyway, let me know what you think. The name of the song is "Kindred" (ps- I'm the drummer) Grigori3 Iuma page "Kindred" |

jamlaw, great work as always. I'd like to respectfully disagree with the comments that the mix was too loud, just right for that genre, imho. I'd like to hear more about how you recorded it. I know you posted a detailed description earlier in the thread, I'll go back and look for it.
zetty twine, nice tune, nice recording. I like the sound on the 12 string a lot. The stereo vox are nice. Is that a touch of delay on one channel? neatguys, very nice stuff, the drums sound very good. hadjipita, very nice polished sounding mix, for some reason my ear wants to hear a tad more drums, but that's really minor, great work. mr7, that's a cool flange effect on the vox, how did you do that? all the other tunes were great, too, the quality goes up around here all the time. bp |
