PT session emergency ! Help ,Please !

Can anyone please advise... I'm mid session , just recorded a long solo piano take , computer is frozen with spinning beachball, I can't stop record , can't hit save etc. I'm afraid I'll lose the recording if I do a force quit . Any advice ?? This freezing has happened a couple times today while I was editing and left computer for a break . Using PT HD 9 with no problems but just recently installed Update " 905 Updater 72733 " which was offered as a " critical update " in a pop-up when I opened PT . Thanks in advance for any help. Don't know if the session is still recording .... will it go until the hard drive is full ? Ayyy !

Nothing to do but force quit, and, yes, it will lose that one take. When you get it back up, try limiting record time (Preferences/Operation). The "Use All Available Space" option is not generally recommended, despite being the default.

It's possible that the program will have closed the audio file and you can find it and add it to the session. Probably not, but worth a try. If not, be sure to run Disk Utility on the record disk, because it may have messed up the catalog in the process of crashing the program.

after force quit try checking the audio files folder and import the latest file

Thanks David and Barlevy for your help ! I'll try searching the audio folders for the stray files. I finally had to force quit and then just rerecorded the music . Even powering off was tricky cause Pro Tools would stay open for a while after the force quit. Later I had the same crash problem but it was while I was editing , so I don't think it's related to inactivity . Not sure if it's a PT or Mac issue now. Thanks again and best wishes !

Do you have iZotope Nectar inserted as a plug-in on any track?
