I'm pretty sure it exists, because I think that I have accidentally done it before.

Is there a keystroke combination to turn on and off pre-roll?

Also, you can quickly set or change pre/post roll time by option-clicking in the Edit window at any point before/after the cursor position.

If pre-roll's on you get a little flag before the cursor on the timeline at the very top of the tracks in the edit window. You can drag that around to adjust pre-roll.
