OMS not detecting my 001

I'm having problems w/ my OMS so I've reinstalled it. But It's not detecting my 001.
Does anyone need anymore info? Or is it a do or don't thing?

Thanks.

Make sure the "Digi 001 OMS Driver" is in the OMS folder in the System Folder. It probably got trashed when you reinstalled OMS. There is a copy of this Extension on the PTLE install CD. Drag it in then restart.

Kinda OT but,

OMS isn't recognizing my Korg Karma, although I'm still able to record and playback midi tracks within sessions with it.

Whats the deal here?

eare2ear:

I believe that the Karma was released subsequent to the last update of OMS in 1999. You would have to "roll your own" instrument for the Karma in OMS.

Re: OMS not detecting my 001

Could you elaborate on the "roll your own" method. I know I can make a sort of generic synth and specify its characteristics, but shouldn't OMS at least be able to say that there IS a device connected to the 001, and that it just doesn't know what it is?

Maybe I'm wrong.

It never mattered to me before since I could still use them together (the Karma & PT), but I just got the Karma MW Software and it won't let me run it unless it recognizes the Karma on a midi port.

From the looks of your inquiry, I think you've already done it.
