Laptop Keyboard troubles
G'day,
I'm running Pro Tools on a Compaq Presario B3800. As the laptop does not have all the keys of a normal desktop computer - such as the additional numeric keypad etc - i cannot use alot of the quick key configurations within Pro Tools - simple things like ctrl + 1 to display the transport bar and nudging. Can this be fixed using the current keyboard? Or can i buy an additional desktop style keyboard and plug it in to a spare USB port to remedy the problem?? Cheers Paul |
Re: Laptop Keyboard troubles
Most laptops, and your presario is one of them, have the numeric keyboard on the regular keyboard, next to the regular letters, and access them with a function key.
To access the Pro Tools key commands using the numeric keyboard, you would just need to press this function key, and then the number key on the regular keyboard. So in your example, you would press ctrl + fn + j (which is the number one) |

Or you can just buy a $20 USB keyboard, making life SOOO much easier.
