Having trouble with audio in Pro-Tools 12

Pro-Tools itself is working fine, but there's no sound coming through at all (during playback). I went through all my inputs and Outputs and they all seem to be set up correctly. I installed new drivers for my sound card and for Pro-Tools and nothing is working. Please help.

Does Alt+K help (Auto Input Monitoring) ?

It's not doing anything as far as I can tell.

Go to Setup>Hardware and make sure you have the correct "audio engine":o

So this would seem a symptom of my problem. Hardware doesn't show up as an option for me.

You need to select something so your audio has a path to the outside world. If you're on a Mac, set it to Core Audio. If on PC, if your onboard sound card doesn't have an ASIO driver, or WASAPI(not sure of spelling) on Windows 10, try downloading ASIO4ALL, which is a free "universal" ASIO driver that might work for you. Eventually, you will want to get a real audio interface(look at Focusrite, MOTU, RME, Audient):o

To be clear, what Dave meant here was go to Setup>Playback Engine and see what options show up there in the Playback Engine pull down menu.

Sold the older socket 1366 backup rig and turned the 3930K into the current backup rig. Still dealing with some wrinkles on the new system:o To Darryl; not sure if I am clear enough for the OP, so I do appreciate the assist:D

Hard to be clear with the OP when he has provided ZERO system details.
