Unable To Uninstall PT Le 6.9. Win XP Pro
 

Hi!

Yesterday I Tried to install PT Le 7.0.
It required uninstallation of Pt Le 6.9.
The problem was,that when the Unistallation procedure began, I checked the remove tick box
but it didn´t complete the action.
Next I tried Manual removal ( removed the digidesign folder with it´s contents etc....)
but the 6.9. still shows in control panel add/remove section and what´s worse,I can´t re-install the damn thing again,because the same window appears during re-installation that in removing....
So anyone with brillant solutions,I salute You! Can You help Me?

You will probably need to manually edit your Windows registry to resolve this. The particular registry key you would need to remove is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall \ {8854A2DB-FE59-4352-85A2-2B0411B2CF6C}

This will remove Pro Tools from the Add/Remove programs list so when you try to run setup from the cd it will install a fresh copy of Pro Tools rather than bring up the maintenance screen with repair, modify, or remove options.
