Cannot spill all layouts to R Spill zone
 

A facility I freelance at has recently updated their S6.
Today I couldn't spill most of my layouts to the R spill zone. It kept jumping back to normal banked tracks. There was exactly one layout in my template that was assignable.
Any idea what was causing this? I used to be able to spill my VCA master layout (resulting in empty faders) and nudge/bank that through to move the vcas visibly within the zone.

Seemed like spilling the layout got an error and jumped straight out of it.
Left zone was fine though.

Any changes in recent software?
Any bugs known?

Please let us know what version of S6 Software and Pro Tools you are currently running. Was the layout you are referring to was happy being recalled 1:1 globally (not in a layout)? Did you perhaps try clearing and re-declaring the Spill Zone? Thanks.

I will try to take note or the vers. tomorrow.
PT12.5.1 or 5.2 as far as I remember.

The layouts recalled fine as layouts globally, and to the larger L spill zone. Not the smaller R zone though.

I found a way to get it working - the layouts that were giving me trouble had tracks only on Ch 25-32 (32fader S6).
Putting these on 1-8 made them fine for spilling to right zone.

I remember those working in older versions.
IIRC, S6 software was 3.1.8, Eucon 4.1

I'm not in front of an S6 at the moment but I think there are settings to change justifyication ?

There are and it isn't justification - it seems that it doesn't allow me to spill a "very empty until the last few strips" layout onto a small spill zone.
I used to be able to do it, then started with "a blank spill zone" and had to bank my way on the spill zone until I got to the VCAs (sort of like they were set up in my layout).

Maybe some settings though that colleagues or updating had changed, as you mentioned. I just couldn't find it, also why some layouts did spill and most didn't.
