Audio on playback losing quality

Hey I am using pro tools 10 on windows 10 with asio driver. My problem is the audio on playback loses low end becomes low quality weak sounding after the first few plays. So I'll make a take and play it a few times and all the sudden things start sounding low quality losing lots of bass/lows. If I stop playing anything on pro tools it might work again after few minutes . I have monitored my cpu usage and it seems to stay below 10%. This does happen when I have plugins running but i experimented turning them off and still same result. I messed with my hardware buffer does not seem to help. I tried using different speaker thats not the problem either. It happens at random times. Sometimes it will work great for 10 minutes but then I just fall back to this problem. I do not think it is a asio4all problem because I have tried all sorts of settings on there and no fix. Also tried different compatibility modes. Please help

Thanks

Hey guys looks like I found the problem. It is antares auto it seems like if I have it on more then one track it messes everything up. Can somebody help me? I had a worse computer before and I could run things fine dont know why im having such issues now. Maybe because im on windows 10 not windows 7 like before?

Re: Audio on playback losing quality

Hmmm, some things to consider:
1-Pro Tools 10 is not approved for Windows 10(I don't know if this means it won't work, but it is unsupported)
2-In general, Win10 is leaner and better than Win7.
3-ASIO4ALL is not the best solution(the best solution is a real recording interface with the appropriate ASIO driver, but all bets are off if Win10 and PT10 are not compatible)
4-A "worse" computer or a "new" computer is meaningless if the old computer was compatible and the new one is not(posting a Sandra report as described in the Help Us Help You link near the top of this and every DUC page is a good idea).

Re: Audio on playback losing quality

The thing is I had a project running and it was going pretty for the past week then all the sudden I get this issue. I tried deleting auto tune and using a older one it did not fix the issue. Also tried deleting plugins/tracks that I wasn't needing still nothing changed.

These are some specs

i7-2600 CPU
16 gb ram
1tb hhd
500 gb ssd
windows 10 home edition 64

Do you think this would work well with pro tools 10?

Re: Audio on playback losing quality

Computer specs appear fine to me. Have you done all the recommended system tweaks? Are your sessions on the separate WD drive? Assuming they are, as a test, copy the troubled session to your C: drive and run that version to see if there is a change(for years, this was not recommended, but with an SSD, it can work fine).

You mentioned that things were fine, and then changed...so what might have changed on the computer? Any new software at all? Any new plugin installed? If the computer is connected to the internet, could you have picked up a virus, trojan or other nasty? I run MalwareByte's anti-malware from time to time. Its also possible to infect a computer by importing a session from someone else on an external drive:-)

What kind of tweaks do you recommend? I put my pc on high performance mode to make things run at best. I also do have my sessions on the HDD. I tried moving them to the primary drive and still had the same issue. It seems like everything works for a bit then i start getting problems after a minute or two.

Re: Audio on playback losing quality

Go into device manager and disable all USB power management.
Make sure in your “power” profile that everything is “always on.”
That’s a good place to start.
