HDX 12.7.1 forgetting delay compensation
I'm having issues with 12.7.1 on OS 10.12.2 where the delay compensation is periodically falling out of line. The workaround is to open Playback Engine settings and select a different buffer setting - doing this seems to force PT to recalculate and things are back in line.
Does anybody else experience this issue? |
Re: HDX 12.7.1 forgetting delay compensation
I assume this is OS 10.12.2? Are all plugins up to date?

Re: HDX 12.7.1 forgetting delay compensation
Yes sorry, 10.12.2.
All plugins are up to date - system was only put together last month and all plugins/installers downloaded from the manufacturers website as they were being installed. |
Re: HDX 12.7.1 forgetting delay compensation
same here.. it seems to be triggered by when I get a -9173 error from cpu hitting a periodic spike it can get out of whack... it seems a feature of later releases unfortunately... very easy to catch if you're doing parallel stems out but I would guess some people don't notice it as much especially those that mix purely itb and are not using a great deal of live parallel auxes with inserts etc. I do the buffer thing too when it happens.

Re: HDX 12.7.1 forgetting delay compensation
That's interesting that you find it occurs after a -9173. The difficulty is if you don't catch it, you can end up printing a mix with compensation errors without realising.
This is frankly abysmal from Avid, and is one of a long list of issues I have had since upgrading last month. |
Re: HDX 12.7.1 forgetting delay compensation
Can you post a screenshot (hosted elsewhere) of plugins and routing? Does this happen in all sessions?

Image of the current session I have had problems with. I haven't noticed a pattern to which sessions it manifests in, but it has been happening to a number of them. |

Hard to tell since most of the I/Os are named "PRINT". You do realize that input monitoring bypasses ADC (cmp value goes to zero)? You can force-enable ADC on those by Ctrl+Cmd+clicking the cmp section.
Besides Echoboy, I don't use those plugins. ADC in 12.7.1 has been stable for me. |
