Core audio on SC48 FWx?

Quick question I can't seem to find an answer to here...

On the SC48 (or a Mix Rack system), when I connect a Macbook Pro to the console for ProTools LE with the FWx interface, can you also use core audio to get iTunes or QLab signal from the laptop into the console? I know that isn't possible with the HDx interface (core audio options are grayed out on my Mac Pro) but am wondering if it is different with the FWx?

Thanks!

Specs for the SC48 indicate that the Firewire interface is for Pro Tools LE use only, so I'm guessing not. I've also played with the new version 2.8 standalone software and FWx was not listed in the patchbay as a physical input.

Actually the FWx does land in the patchbay (labeled as ProTools). I'm guessing however the FWx operates on the current consoles is how it would function with Core Audio in this case. That's why I'm asking. Hopefully someone with a FWx interface on their console can speak into this.

Thanks!!

I remember making this work one day. Our monitor guy and myself were messing around with some virtual instruments on a MacBook Pro and had it connected via FWx to our profile system... I don't remember our specific process of making it work, because I wasn't at the controls, but my guess is that it isn't much different from making iTunes play out of an mBox or 002...

This was on a VENUE Profile system.
