How many forum members does it takes to change a ?

How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

1 to move it to the Lighting section

2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

And...

1 idiot (like me) that actually reads the entire post from top to bottom thinking there is something really important in there somewhere...

And one to point out, "Hey, there's this cool light bulb made by Nuendo. It runs on the power of its own filament. It doesn't need electricity, and you don't even have to screw it in."

" How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb? "

one, to hold the light bulb...while expecting the entire forum to revolved around them.

OR.. From Digisign's Point of view...

" How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb? "

one, to hold the new feature for the light bulb...while expecting all of digidesign's software development effrots to revolved around them.

cheers georgia

How many forum members, who mix-in-the-box and say they like the way it sounds, does it take to change a light bulb.

None. They live in the dark.

Re: How many forum members does it takes to change

It takes 50,000 light bulb tech's (I think that's the number of forum members now--or close to it).
I guess I'm also one of those light bulb changers--aw, check that, i'm just a flippin' janitor around here replacing urinal deodorant discs (and that's even a nightmare getting said product from the quartermaster)...changing bulbs is above my pay grade as I always change wattage of bulbs, not burned out bulbs, and burn my little fingers because I'm not trained to let said bulb cool before touching it.
But alas, you are correct in your analysis of said forum(s) and it is too bad (even though, as mentioned, that's what these forums are for) that we couldn't reduce the day to day redundancy.
Yours,
LB.

Re: How many forum members does it takes to change

It just pisses me off that I just bought a new light bulb and now there's already a better one available. But to use it, I have to upgrade ALL my sockets! And they've dropped support for 3 way bulbs! Don't they know how many 3 way bulb users there are in the world. This is the beginning of the end for them. If Thomas Edison were still alive, things would be different. THERE was someone who respected the end user........he didn't just invent the thing and expect all of US to beta test it! He knew it worked before he sold it..........If that isn't enough, my neighbor put it new lights on his deck. Now I've got to make my house brighter than his or no one will visit me. I'll lose friends and parties if I don't get my lights louder........er, i mean brighter, than his! ................................................an d another thing......arrrggg........arggggg.........aaaaaaar rrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
