Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Hi all,
finally I learned some more about webbuilding & ~hosting, think the site's grown to some more mature proportions last weeks. I uploaded it with some more tunes that I made last year, I have to honestly admit that they were not done with PTLE & 001, but with Cubase and a Gina soundcard. Only few of the songs I consider to be really finished, still I'd be pleased with any comments, especially on Goldfish, Little Brother and Space Ride. My 2 cents ..... Best regards, Voideco http://www.voideco.com |

Dr.John,
Hey, great work! Like soundsrfr, I really liked the guitar work in 'Ordinary Girl'. The sound is good, and makes the song sound more substantial. One thing I wasn't sure about was the reverb on the snare was heavy at the start of the song and gone at the end. I presume you did this on purpose. 'Here Without You' is a great little up-beat pop song. As played here, it's more guitar oriented, but I could really hear someone like Billy Joel doing a song like this where it bacame a bit more piano oriented. 'Stay With Me' - good again. Listening now and enjoying it. I like the sound of the snare in the bridge, going in to the chorus. Nice up-front sort of mix. You used a neat little synth sound right after the chorus. It sort of added an African feel (my interpretation) to the tune for a second. I liked it, but then it was gone. I'd love to hear a mix where you drove that sort of thing through more of tune. This is right in the area of some of Phil Collin's stuff. Good tunes all! Keep up the good work! Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Thank you Mark for your detailed review...yes the snare reverb was only for the verses...can't do that for the whole song...I wanted some atmosphere..I guess I got it.
The synthy-thing after the chorus of stay with me was an old drum machine run through an eventide h3000.... Do you have some stuff to listen to? Thanks again! Dr.John |
Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Dr John,
I think Stay with me has the best sonics (?) I liked the synthy thing lol, i have done similar things with the mooger fooger ring modulator..... The snare ´verb on ordinary girl is cool in the beginning, but to my taste it switches to too dry, just an opinion.. In general I thought the mixes were very well balanced. great work thank you jorge |

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here
Well, here's my latest - a version of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here.
Check it out here: http://murphonics.com/pages/mp3 I started it a little while ago while my wife was out of the country, as a gift to her, and to help cure my loneliness and boredom! I'm without a studio at the moment, so this was recorded in the living room of my apartment. Fortunately I'm about to move, and will have a new studio built soon! When I do, I'd like to add live drums, and get someone to play guitar during the solo sections, but for the most part it's done. I sang and played all the instruments, except for the excellent piano part, provided by Murph (he was also kind enough to post this track on his site). I used an AT4033, going through an ART Tube MP for the acoustic guitars and vocals. I went direct into the 001 (stock preamps) with my trusty Fender P Bass. Since I'm currently an apartment dweller, live drums were out of the question, so I used a virtual drum machine with samples from my own kit. I tried to stay as true to the original song as possible, while still retaining artistic license here and there. It was a lot of fun, especially being able to do "cyber tracking" with Muprh! Enjoy!
