SC48 Error & Crash mid-show
1 Attachment(s)
SC48 displayed 'Ready To Resume" dialogue on screen mid-show. (see attached)
Selected "Resume Operations" command. Desk then went into fault mode with all meters at max level and high frequency screech. Restart was slow and then a song or 2 later, same 'Ready To Resume' error appeared - desk then went in 'Backup mode' - only mutes and faders working. Tried a second restart - this time appears to cycle around a fault in the BIOS boot-up - never fully loading to startup screen - this repeated for 5-6 minutes. Unable to enter Test mode. Thankfully had another Sc48 in the truck and swapped out (phew!). Appreciate any insights into potential cause. •Hard Drive? •Motherboard? •BIOS Battery? •RAM? Thanks for any insights. |
Re: SC48 Error & Crash mid-show
That sounds like a BIOS battery. I change mine out every year just to avoid the headache.

Re: SC48 Error & Crash mid-show
How difficult is it to change the battery. I have looked, but it seems really difficult to get at.
Is there a step by step guide to how to do this? Or advice on how to go about it. Ours is now 10 years old so is well past when it should have been replaced. Thanks |
Re: SC48 Error & Crash mid-show
I'm sorry my friend, I've not owned an SC48. I know that in the Mix Rack it was on the motherboard behind the TDM cards. On the S3L it is vertical and underneath the HDX card. I would try to take the top off and look for the motherboard, shouldn't be too hard to find.
