TPM Question

Not that I’m in a big hurry to jump on the Win 11 bandwagon, but just in terms of being “future ready:” I have a Gigabyte x99 Designar motherboard, and it has a 20-pin TPM header…apparently, no TPM, no Win 11. So the question is, is this a proprietary brand-specific item, or will just about any 20-pin TPM do the job? Not seeing any Gigabyte modules out there….rumor has it there’s been quite an anticipatory run on TPMs in general. Thankfully, it’s onboard on my ASUS X299 deluxe.

Re: TPM Question

Hi think a generic would do the job but not shure. There is already a workaround for it tho.

Workaround? Care to elaborate? Thanks!

Re: TPM Question

I've read a few articles about it, about replacing an old win 10 installer file into the new installer.

BTW aside from that im using win 11 and Protools in my home computer and it work well for now. Got to test more but seems pretty solid and stable.

Re: TPM Question

We X-99ers won't be able to run 11 because an X99 won't accept the newer CPUs that are required.
