Parallel Task Optimizations - settings missing in 2021.3? [SOLVED]

2021.3 release notes:
Parallel Task Optimizations
The Parallel Task Optimizations is now available in Pro Tools Software. It was previously only available in Pro Tools Ultimate. The default value of the preference has also been changed from ‘Off’ to ‘High.’ This preference speeds up certain actions by allowing Pro Tools to multi-thread certain tasks that appear in the Task Manager, such as Workspace indexing, waveform calculation, and Elastic Audio rendering. See the Pro Tools Reference Guide for more details.

Page 127 in the 2021.3 Reference Guide describes the new Parallel Task Optimizations settings in Preferences/Processing/Miscellaneous.
They are not in my preferences.
Also, X-Form rendering in Elastic Audio seems to take the same time as before.

It was previously only available in Pro Tools Ultimate - Should everyone have this now?

SOLVED - see post #16

Says right in the release notes, "The Parallel Task Optimizations is now available in Pro Tools Software." I went looking for this and could not find it either.

Hello,

Looks like we have a documentation error (which we'll correct). In order to see the speed increase, you need to be processing multiple files at a time. The High setting will process one file per thread, for up to a total of 8 parallel files. Will you try this will multiple files?

Thanks.

Does this mean only PT Ultimate should have the Parallel Task Optimizations setting in Preferences?

Thanks - I'll try multiple files, but I was hoping the new setting would speed up X-Form rendering in Elastic Audio with one track.

Thanks for responding. So what should the documentation say then? ie. what is the deal? Is this available in Pro Tools non-Ultimate? Is it just turned on by default?

It would be much appreciated if the multiple files at once processing setting worked with Audiosuite processing in the near future. Would speed a lot of offline processes like declicking files, etc.

Btw. Setting Parallel Task Optimizations to "High" produced some crashed in earlier PT versions. Keep that in mind when you enable it. I had it turned Off.

I'm also looking for clarity on this.

This discussion is about Parallel Task Optimizations, but Elastic Audio doesn't fully use one CPU core.

PT Session
1 stereo audio track - 30 seconds - 16bit - 44.1kHz - Interleaved
No other programs running apart from UAD console, etc.

This must be a bug - no usage is shown!!!

Elastic Audio's X-Form processing seems to be very inefficient.
It is very slow, 25 seconds to process a 30 second stereo track, but very little CPU is used. Half of the CPU threads are completely unused. It does not fully use one CPU core.
