How can I upgrade a perpetual educational license with expired updates
 

Hello, I own a Perpetual Educational license with an expired updates plan.

I want to update to the latest Pro Tools since some of my plugins do not work properly with my current 21.10 version.

I want to maintain mi perpetual license but updated, I do not want to move to a subscription model. What are my options?

I am in the same position. My support plan expired while I had covid and now there seems difficulty in reinstating it. After some digging it does seem that Avid are selling an update (used to be called reinstatement) for people who have a perpetual license with an expired support plan. This brings you back up to date and adds 12 months support and updates

However I can't seem to find the EDU equivalent. I have tried contacting Avid support but, so far no clear answer. I have also messaged sweetwater but am waiting for a reply.

Hopefully someone from Avidd will reply to this message and help us.

I'm in the same case. I hope we will get some solid infos before the sale end because there are not so much infos about reinstatement with perpetual EDU licences with expired support plan. Although a member say it will work here, Avid need to clearly state it visibly somewhere https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=418766 . Nobody want to pay to find out they lost their money

Hi, any clarification about the to update to the latest Pro Tools for a perpetual EDU licence with expired support plan ?

On the Avid site I can read :

IMPORTANT Starting April 26, 2022:
- Pro Tools non-EDU versions 9, 10, and 11 can Get Current from resellers only
- Pro Tools non-EDU versions 12 and up may purchase Get Current inside your Avid Account
- Pro Tools EDU and Institution Upgrade Reinstatement/Get Current are no longer available

Hey.... if you're still in school, get a new license. Apply again.

So the only option now is to buy a full standard licence ?
