Avid Link credentials issue?

Avid Link is requesting admin credentials for the express/silent plugin update installation, and none of the username password combinations I provide work.

Can anyone point me to where I am supposed to get these from?

Avid Link: 2022.5

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on ‎2/‎1/‎2022
OS build 22000.675
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.675.0

Edit: Solved.

Solved. The administrators full email address for the Microsoft account needs to be put in, not just the first 5 characters that show up by default.

Using the full email, and the password for the Microsoft account fixed the problem.

This should be your computer's user name and password. Your profile says you're on macOS (though you posted to the Windows subforum), so the account from System Preferences > User & Groups (and make sure you check the 'accept' box). Did that not work?

Apologies, I tried making this post a trillion times and was met with PHP errors.

I can confirm this is on a Windows machine I am putting together for a client.

Thanks for clarifying.

You have the Admin Functions pref enabled, and you're using their username and password?

"You will be required to enter an administrator password to set install options." [pg9 in the Ref Guide]

Re: Avid Link credentials issue?

There is one user account set up on the machine. The account was created using a Microsoft account on first setup. The computer issues a PIN to log in and out of the user account. As far as we are aware, there has never been a traditional password set on the machine, aside from the 4-digit PIN used to log in.

When the window pops up, it auto fills the user account name (the first 5 letters of the email) but I question whether or not its correct. The user in question is the only account, as such they are also an admin.

There *has* to be a password on an account to enable use of a Hello PIN. So here likely the Microsoft account password.

I am having the same issue. I have had the request before (when updating to 2022.4) and it accepted my Windows email and password. Now I've tried updating via Avid Link and got the ''download failed'' message, so I have updated Avid Link manually. This time it refuses to accept my username and password. I've tried combinations of username and email and they all fail. I have even changed my Microsoft account password - still refuses to accept it.

I am using a local account for my Windows desktop. The Avid Link program is not accepting my local user account to allow the express install. Why?
