Artist Mix LED Display Glitches out
 

every few days my LED Display Strips glitch out and go half blank and askew.
Power cycling fixes it but in the middle of a mix that's a pain.

What version of MacOS and EuControl are you on?

It doesn't matter how many times I update the software or the firmware or what version of MacOS I'm on; once the Artist Mix display starts to glitch, it can't be fixed. It has happened on three units already. The pan knobs often stop working as well.

Unfortunately the S1 is unnacceptable as a replacement because

• I would have to buy an iPad for each one, and that can double the price of each unit.
• The charging cables for the pads can't be hidden.
• I can't get to any mixing or recording equipment that's installed behind the control surface with the iPads in the way.
• If I don't buy iPads, I have no meters, and I'm still stuck looking at the enormous iPad support back thingy. It's horrendous.
• It can't be installed flush in a desk like the Artist Mix.

So I just throw them out when they fail and buy another one. It's infuriating.

You don't need the tablets. The S1 has exactly the same meters as the Mix on the OLEDs. People who don't want the high-res meters generally tuck the back mount on the S1 under their monitor and bring the monitor down over it. Some then run Avid Control Desktop on their WS to gain back the high-res meters.

Thanks Eddie, I didn't know the S1 had meters in the OLED display. I guess that will do, and maybe I can hide the tablet support like you suggested.
