digi 003 LE factory PT 8.0 to mac pro

mac specs
Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)
with:two 800 firewire ports

Just picked up my first ever mac and want to set up pt for the first time. problem, the mac pro's come with 800 firewire ports. So , i need a recommendation for what adapter i need to purchase on the mac store site. They have there own adapter 800 to 400 or the belckin products which is a little bit more pricey. Does it matter for performance.

Shouldn't matter. Try online for best prices. I usually go to a local Apple or Mac Outfitters.

Congratulations. :-) I would go for a 400->800 cable and not the adapter. It doesn't need to be expensive, however I wouldn't buy the cheapest. I am using OWC cables which are inexpensive but not cheaply made. :-)
