Thanks baslik - I checked out your Project on Myspace - you have some great guitar work and tone happening there. Very good PTools engineering too.

Last time I was in San Bernardino was back in 1985 US festival, man that was a fantastic time. wish I could play like that, keep it coming bratha.;)

Cheers guys :)

Got another one here:

This is my first attempt at mixing this style of music, done as part of a project for a uni assignment.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4814941/jazz%20master%202.wav

or YouTube - Funky Jazz Track (if so, watch at 720p, images of setup was not of my session however.)

What i'm most surprised at is how well xpand2 electric piano's fitted within the context of this track, with it all being traditionally recorded apart from that. Sax is lacking some warmth, but sounds ok for a first timer! Drum kit is nice and roomy which is great and suites it well. Great sounding kit.

Was recorded onto an Otari console into a couple of 96 io's and mixed in Pro Tools M-Powered back at home away from the studio.

The US festival - Steve Wozniak's attempt for rock n Roll fame. Did not work but he had some great bands play!

Cajon Box - SM58 in rear soundhole
Bass - Blend of DI and Fender Bassman (SE 2200A)
Guitars - C414's
Vocals - Rode NT1 (doesnt quite look the same at the start)

Drums and bass tracked together, as are all the guitars. Vocals done separately.

Enjoy.

This sounds great!
I love this tune and Ragged Bag Of Friends.

Good music!

the journey from protools, into movie maker, and on to youtube completely flattened the mix. But i hope you guys still enjoy it. xD One of my first mixes, im 16.

Hi ya'll.

Being relatively new to Pro Tools I take the plunge and send in this cover version of an old classic "Shine On Brightly" with Procol Harum.

I did the organ part on my Hammond B 3 and Leslie 122. The rest of the music is played from my Yamaha Tyros 3 keyboard including the guitar. Yeah, and I did the lead vocal too....so I did everything myself and would like very much to hear the thoughts of you more experienced ProToolers..... :-)

You can find the MP3 here at Box.net: http://www.box.net/shared/ygvztnziso

I have one problem though.... it seems problematic getting enough output gain from Pro Tools to the master track.....

Best regards,

Mike

These were all made on Sonar 8 (instrumentals are Reason Rewired).

Composed, arranged, produced, sung and engineered by yours truly (Dmitry Karpovich).
O, and the girl on the choruses is Kimi Liope

Enjoy! (I hope :)

Who can guess where I snagged the percussion sample on "Californ I Am"?

Lovin' the song! AWESOME

Maybe its the Youtube compression, but I hear something funny going on in the lower range, a clashing between the kick and the bass. I would tweak the kick a little so it doesn't sound so... hollow? If the 44/16 sounds OK, then please ignore my comments.
But I LOVE the song. Can I get it on Itunes?
