AUX TRACK gets no signal

Dear all,
I hope someone could help me on following issue:
Would like to add REVERB to an audio track (L-voc) via a stereo AUX track

SETUP:
Send (A) on VOC track is sending to BUS 1-2
AUX track in/out receives from BUS 1-2
DVERB is in the insert for the AUX TRACK
L-voc armed

The AUX track gets (fader is up) no signal sent from L-voc at all ... ?

I checked the In/out settings and all is correct
I run the 002 via PT8LE

Could someone give me a hint where the problem comes from ...
many thanks
Serge

So you are trying to hear the Reverb on the incoming signal while recording?

Not really the most desirable thing to do because of latency but;

-Do you have the Send fader turned up?
-Is LLM turned on or off?

Record something then see if it sends the audio that is recorded to the Reverb during playback.

Make sure your Send's fader is also set to a decent amount.

Regarding that^^^^ there is a preference setting for added sends snapping to either -0 or all the way down. Maybe grab a screen shot and upload to photobucket, then link to here so we can actually see your assignments.:D

Yup, most likely you're send fader is turned all the way down. Click on the send (in your case, A) tab to make the fader appear and adjust accordingly.

As Albee said, if you don't want the fader to be automatically down each time you create a send, adjust in preferences menu.

Dear all,
thanks for yr input
Of course the fader was up ... that was the first thing I did when I created this setup via the AUX track

However the solution to make it work is: to "UNTICK" LLM

So a big thank you to "SKI"

kind rgds to all
Serge

Re: AUX TRACK gets no signal

Ah yes...LLM. The manual is pretty clear about LLM mode disabling sends and plugins on any track that is in record ready(you can tell as the little "buttons" that represent sends and plugins go blue). BTW, when they are inactive, they go grey. Let the learning begin:D:D (IOW, don't get discouraged by all this. There's a lot to learn and you'll get there in time);) If you hate reading manuals, try searching youtube for "pro tools and ________(insert issue here)" without the quotes as there are lots of tutorials(some better than others). Another great source of videos is pro-tool-expert.com(toss them a donation as it will be well worth it).

The good thing is once we got the 32 buffer setting the use of LLM wasn't as critical as it was prior to that.
Remembering the days of saying get a mixer to monitor your playing seems like a very long time ago.:D

I also record at the 64 buffer setting(LLM has not worked on my rig for 2 years:eek:). No complaints about latency there either.
