Powerful audio routing tool Source-Nexus makes its Windows debut.

Source Elements, the world leader in low-latency, high-quality real-time audio over the Internet for musicians and studios, announces the release of Source-Nexus for Windows. Source-Nexus is a crucial part of today’s remote collaboration toolkit for audio professionals, allowing users to integrate and route HD audio from anywhere across applications & devices. Available on macOS since 2015, Source-Nexus is available on the Windows operating system for the first time with version 1.3.

Because it doesn’t use any hardware, Source-Nexus keeps HD audio in the digital domain and brings flexible routing capabilities thanks to a robust virtual audio driver and plugins for AAX and VST, along with Audio Units for the macOS version. Multiple Source-Nexus “aux tracks” can be created with custom virtual devices for every app so users can patch all audio apps whether for tracking, mixing, or layering effects. Source-Nexus supports up to 64 channels and track configurations up to 7.1 so users can record remote tracks directly into any DAW/NLE and playback with just about any platform.

Multi-platinum music producer and songwriter Mick Schultz says that “this plugin changed my life—audio in and out from any source with one click.”

The Windows version of Source-Nexus provides a configuration option to create up to 50 Source-Nexus audio devices during the installation process, and then customize those device names and format settings using the Windows Sound Control Panel. Want to add more devices after installing? No problem, simply find Source-Nexus in the installed applications folder, select it and then select Modify and then you can change the number of installed devices on the fly. This brings the functionality in line with the macOS version’s Control Panel.
