2021.6 and 2021.7 restart after exit
 

Hi,

This has been driving me crazy! I deleted appdata and documents and reboot but everytime I launch ProTools on exit it reloads and is FUBAR. I also updated all the iLok software and am thinking it could be the iLok Cloud that is causing this.

Help!

FUBAR is so highly technically involved, that you would be far better off to take a 10 gage shotgun to your specific computer and system :D

You might want to list your system specs and a less ambiguous explanation of exactly what FUBAR looks like ?????

I was having a similar issue about a year ago. Turned out to be a problem with the MOTU audio driver (I have a MOTU 1248). Once I updated the MOTU driver the restarts stopped. No more FUBAR or SNAFU...

I moved the iLok from cloud to local but still restarts. I will uninstall drivers for the ADC/DAC AFC and try again. What a pain in the ass!

PT has been re-launching for me as well, at least from 2021.6, possibly earlier. And I'm on Windows. I haven't installed 2021.7 yet and was hoping they had fixed that.

Automatic restarting can be caused by instability in your system from ram to hard drives, drivers to overheating etc. In Windows you can disable auto restarts by unchecking its box.

Isn't that just for the OS, though? The problem is Pro Tools restarting after exiting.

All my other DAWs work great and don't restart Reaper Studio One Pro 5.2 FL Studio and Harrison Mixbus. We're a recording studio that support all genres of music production.

You know, not blaming you for using unsupported system but when I was in a beta team in PT7-10 we chased a problem like this and it took me countless of installs to find a combination of OS/PT to get this happening repeadetly. So please just double check your software combination first, then take a moment to think when was the last time when you did a clean install of operating system (as in erasing the system storage and installing operating system plus other system after that without using any automated migration tools).
