Pro Tools Studio Won't Open Sessions

Hi I have the most recent version of Pro Tools Studio 2022.7 on an M1 MacBook Pro Running 12.3.1 Monteray and everytime I launch Pro Tools I get this error message:*
Could not complete your request because Permission denied (13)* while opening "UsageAnalytics.pref".

It will allow me to create a new session and save, but then I can never open that or any other sessions. I have searched the Avid Knowledge Base and tried the suggestions found here:*https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...Analytics-pref

And then restarted etc.. and I keep getting the same error. Anyone have a solution for this?*

Check your security preferences. Grant Pro Tools use of the full hard drive (all files and folders)

Hi, thanks for suggestion. I've checked that, following the instructions here:

Are there any others I should check?

run disk utility on your system drive > first aid to hopefully correct permission issues.
Is your user account an administrator for the computer? (if you are the only user, then you will be)

If that fails, trash the Pro Tools application in the Applications folder (don't worry, doesn't change anything really), restart, the run the pro tools installer from a new download of the installer from Avid.

I did run disk permissions, yes. I was thinking that trashing Pro Tools and re installing was my next move. I'll try that, thank you.

I would troubleshoot more before reinstalling Pro Tools.

This is an extremely specific error with a very specific fix that should work. I would double check you have done everything exactly correctly as described in the KB article.

Where is your home directory? On what disk/type of file system?

Did you use migration assistant to move a user account to this computer?

Is your account set up with an iCloud home directory? Don't do that.

Next troubleshooting:

Trash prefs (all of them, use Pete Gates' PT Prefs Utility)

Create a new user with admin privileges, make sure that user account home directory is on the internal boot drive. (which should be an APFS file system and not shared over iCloud). Fully reboot your mac and log into that new account and test running Pro Tools from there.
